Saturday, July 18, 2009

not a good start.

i woke up today with a
dying thirst, literally. had alcohol last night,
couldn`t remember much but to my
utter horror, i found out that i did my laundry before
heading to bed. must say, i`m
quite the responsible kid
when i`m drunk.

then again, what`s new right?

so i washed up, sat down and logged in
to facebook with a
cup of coffee, only to receive
a message from yukio that says:
"i have word from ellison`s family. he was put into a detention center
and the guards beat him up. his jaw was broken in two places and
his arm fractured in three places. he was taken to a united nations
hospital on june 23. they wired his jaw back together and now he is
under UNHCR protection. that is all i hear from his family.

i hope you are okay. prey for chus mother, her surgery is today.

i am in america for another two weeks, i dont want to work anymore.
see you soon jeremy"
what a day!

shot in the back of the head.

i`m not going to play the blame game here

however, going to say this.

friend, i will
be there with you to search for
a solution.

because,
you are my friend too.

when one ends, a new begins.

with the spring 2010 menswear coming
to an end, it marks the
beginning of fall 2009 couture in paris.

i must say, this year`s menswear
left me wanting for more. i shan`t go on
about how much i love
the collections cause i`m sure you guys know
it and, yesterday`s a closed book so
i`m looking forward to fall 2010 menswear already!

and with that, i`ll leave
you guys with some backstage pictures
i got from john galliano`s show.

go on, drool all over your keyboards.

anyway, i might be changing my blog`s address to
"mark a new beginning". i have been
using this address since the day i started this blog
and now, i`ve graduated
with a diploma and still, i`m using this
address. it has been 4 years!

i`ll let you guys know the minute i set the
new address.

out.

men in love.

so this entry should have been
posted way earlier but
due to some problems with blogger,
its posted only now.

anyway, i know i said this
many times but i`m still gonna
say it,

I LOVE S/S 2010 MENSWEAR!

just as i thought givenchy and ann
demeulemeester was good enough, out comes
my favorite label, julius! i just
can`t get enough of it!

i love the entire collection and it is
so difficult to narrow
down my choices but i did it, eventually.
here are some of my favorites!
julius.

according to the designer, tatsuro horikawa
was inspired by a trip to the
southeast asia where the sun was so
intense, it bleached the color out of
everything such as the saffron robes of buddhist
monks. also,
he was drawn to the garb of the
islamic women, which he found shared a lot
with japanese tradition.

he paraded models who, in
their draped, wrapped robes, looked like
acolytes of a new post-apocalyptic
order and he called them, "blessed people living
amongst the gods".

up next, not exactly my favorite but i guess
it is still worth mentioning and that is,
kris van assche.

van assche defined his theme as
"dissonance", as the notion of things of different
origin grafting together. if you ask me, yes
i do see a little of culture clash but,
they looked almost quaint. i don`t really
like the look of it but, if
separate the pieces i think they`re
actually alright.

lastly, how could you not mention rick owens
when you`re talking about menswear?
rick owens.

really, do i need to say more?
